Wellness Center

Our beautiful Wellness Center is located on the lower ground floor of Mission High School

 

Our Mission:

To support the overall health needs of our student population through a variety of services to ensure their academic success.
Who We Serve: We are proud to serve our entire school community: Students, Families, and Staff.
Our Wellness Staff Members:
  • Wellness Coordinator: Chandra Sivakumaran
  • School Nurse: Mary-Michael Preyer-Watts
  • Community Health Outreach Worker (CHOW): Ray Sotto (speaks Tagalog)
  • RAMS Therapist: Dr.David Shepard, Psy.D

  • Therapists are also available who can provide services in Spanish
Wellness Center Services:
  • Individual mental health counseling
  • Support groups for substance use, leadership development, truancy, and violence prevention
  • Nursing services: health insurance sign-ups, referrals for vision/dental/primary care, general student care, reproductive health support
  • Health education presentations/workshops in class
  • Family therapy interventions/consultations
  • Case management by community based organizations
  • Staff and family wellness consultations about student health issues
  • A safe, quiet, confidential place to take a break
